Swirling

Streams find and define their own course.  The speed and direction of the water varies depending on the gradient of the land, the constraints of its course and the amount of rainfall.

This work seeks to capture the variation in direction and energy as well as the beautiful, subtle colours of clear water and textures as it rushes over stony ground.

These pieces are made by hand from coils using stoneware clay, treated with oxides and a touch of transparent glaze. They are fired to 1245 degrees. Each piece is unique. The measurements are to be used as a guide. Please get in touch for further details.
